Our missions committee seeks to discover possibilities for mission projects, shares findings with church program organizations, and serves the church in establishing and conducting such mission projects as may be assigned to it. This committee is responsible for developing and implementing the church’s Global Impact Plan which is the church’s method to collect and distribute missions’ funds.

Bridge(M28) Ministry
The Bridge House is M28 Ministries’ local ministry located at 2001 SW “D” Ave in Lawton OK. M28 has become a beacon of hope for so many people in our community. With M28 we have planted roots, with a permanent presence in the neighborhood 24/7. The purpose of The Bridge House is to interact with the community and offer as many opportunities for people to encounter the Holy Spirit and meet Jesus Christ as possible.
First Baptist West serves at The Bridge House every fourth Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm. Volunteers are always needed to come help set out clothes, serve lunch, and even help lead the worship service. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are delivered together with the Good News of Jesus Christ as expressions of God’s immense love for a child.
First Baptist West collects items throughout the year and hosts packing parties for church members to come together to pack shoeboxes for children to received all around the world. We also hand out boxes to anyone who would like to take boxes home to pack as a family. Check our bulletin for items being collected and packing party dates.
Kairos Prison Ministry
Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. (Kairos) is a lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to prisoners and their families. The Kairos programs take the participants on a journey that demonstrates the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Kairos Prison Ministry is Christian in nature, although no religious affiliation is necessary to be a participant. The programs involve a structured model that includes the weekend experience, followed by guests or participants gathering regularly for accountability, support, and prayer.

Grief Share Support Group
The “Grief Share” ministry is for those who have experienced loss. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. This ministry will provide care, encouragement, and support as you cope with one of life’s most difficult experiences.
